Die "Catholic Near East Welfare Association" (CNEWA) ist eine bis heute bestehende
US-amerikanische Hilfsorganisation mit Fokus auf dem Mittleren Osten, Nordostafrika, Indien
und Osteuropa. Sie wurde 1926 von Pius XI. eingerichtet, um die Spendentätigkeit
US-amerikanischer Katholiken zu bündeln. Die CNEWA stand bis 1931 unter dem Vorsitz des
Jesuitenpaters Edmund Aloysius Walsh, der bereits 1922 die päpstliche Hilfsmission für
Russland koordiniert hatte.
