Banco di Roma

Die Banco di Roma wurde 1880 gegründet. Ihr erster Präsident war bis 1916 Ernesto Pacelli (1859-1925), ein Cousin Eugenio Pacellis. Ernesto Pacelli war zudem ein Berater der Päpste Leo XIII., Pius X. und Benedikt XV. Bis zum Ersten Weltkrieg gehörten dem Heiligen Stuhl 25 Prozent der Anteile der Bank. Nachfolger Pacellis wurde Carlo Santucci.
